About
Greetings! My name is Paul, and I am an avid CrossFitter and former distance runner.
I coach CrossFit and CrossFit Endurance at CrossFit Zeal (since 2012) and CrossFit Durham (since 2011).
Warning: some of the entries contain adult content. I offer no apologies.
Paul earned his Masters in Communication Studies from West Virginia University. He is CrossFit Level 1 Certified and holds CrossFit Rowing, Gymnastics, Endurance, Kettle Bell, and Mobility Certifications as well.
Paul discovered his passion for running later in life, initially running as a means to lose weight. He was bitten by the racing bug after placing in his age group in the first race that he ran (the Komen Race for the Cure). Paul has been the overall winner in race distances including 5K, 10K, 10 mile, Half Marathon, Marathon (Umstead and Twisted Ankle) and Ultra (Triple Lakes Trail Race). Paul has also placed in “Adventure” Ultras, including the Mt. Mitchell Challenge, Uwharrie Mountain Run, and the Rattlesnake Trail Race.
Paul was introduced to CrossFit in 2009, and joined CrossFit Zeal in 2012. Paul provides direction and support to his trainees, and brings passion, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor to his training.
My favorite color is orange. That’s the most important thing to know about me, really.
